Pros and cons of Calgary Transit app for iPhone and iPad

Calgary Transit app good for

Great to see this improvement. Way to go. Makes my life so much easier. Now lets bring the four car trains fast. Its really needed.
This was pretty well done, I wont lie. Im pretty impressed by its quality. Good job! Its an app that sums up everything. Even if real time is not perfect, I prefer to go by schedule times anyways. Well done. :)
Really pleased to have this app on my phone! Being new to Calgary, this app is very useful. I had one minor question regarding how to view specific route info - I sent an email to customer support via the App - and a feedback email was quick to return to me and explained the answer in detail (they even used screen shots!). Quite impressed!
I think it is a brilliant application. An easy interface, has a really cool trip planner tool which is very helpful when it comes to find routes on the go. Every city in Canada and the World should implement this app.
I dont know what I would do without this app. I have to take two bus routes to get to work and before I found I was always late or missing my bus, now it is SO much EASIER to know when to catch the bus and plan ahead. I find the times are very accurate and getting around the city is way easier. Thank you Calgary Transit!!!
I think we are so lucky as a city to have the team at The Transit App behind the Calgary Transit App. Not all the features have been carried over - but I think everything it offers is wonderful. There are still some hickups with the live reporting on the bud locations - but this is likely unrelated to the app its self.

Some bad moments

The only feature that Google maps doesnt have that this is supposed to, is gps tracking of busses, and I cant seem to figure out how to do that, if it even actually does that. I dont see the point of this app.
App will show a ride arriving when in fact its out service. Makes it hard to plan alternatives
Have found the GPS location is inaccurate enough to not be useful. I watched as two buses pass my position while the app showed them several blocks away and behind schedule. The predicted time of arrival was so wrong that I thought I had missed my bus when in reality it was on time according to the published time table. I showed the bus driver that day and we had a good laugh. Which is odd that the app would put the bus ahead it should at least follow the 74000 text service time table... So while a great idea, without a much much higher degree of accuracy it is little more then a novelty app and not any more useful than any other transit app that I have tried. Disappointing.
I live in Woodbine and the 56 runs to Anderson and to Southland. The app only shows the Southland route, so I regularly miss the Anderson bus estimating arrival. I would love this route to be added.
The real time GPS does not work. Busses were showing on map that were not there. Hopefully there will be future development for this app.
I wish I could watch the bus travel on the map in real time. The updates really dont help because, although it "renews" every 10 seconds the bus could be anywhere. Toronto has an an app the works really well. Take a look at their system.
